BJLA Mission Statement: Our mission is
three-fold: 1) To increase participation by advertising and offering
better incentives, 2) To improve the quality of the livestock programs
and events by creating more reference material, more shows and better
events, 3) To improve facilities by building new equipment and repairing
existing venues. With all of our members coming together and working
towards one goal, we will be able to bring Alabama into the spotlight!
We are currently in the process of converting from a "club"
into a non-profit 501(c)(3) association. Every dime we have received
has gone into youth livestock events, and soon as an official non-profit
association, our members and donors will be able to receive tax
benefits in addition to helping Alabama's youth!
The youth livestock programs in the state of Alabama have been
waning for the past several years. This is mainly due to a lack
of funding and sponsorship. These kids spend hundreds of dollars
on their livestock, and in turn, the shows, events and programs
put on for these children are costly as well. As parents and leaders,
it is up to us to make a change. This is where we need your help!
By becoming a BJLA member, 100% of your donation will go into sponsoring
shows and events across the entire state, for all species. These
funds will allow more opportunities for our youth to show off all
of their hard work and efforts by creating better shows. These funds
will also go directly to the children as monetary and prize awards.
Raising and exhibiting livestock requires dedication, patience
and many hours of hard work. The youth livestock programs in Alabama
promote quality family time, team work, research, self-esteem, and
many other character building traits. Most children that participate
in a youth livestock program, continue in the agriculture industry.
BJLA offers several different membership levels. Please feel free
to contact us at anytime if you have
questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
